Praise for the Colour of Music Festival

PhotoGrid_1412319812144The Colour of Music Festival is certainly on its way to being one of its kind.  During the week of Oct 22-26,  some of the most talented Black Classical Musicians will descend upon Charleston, SC for a week of music making.

National Symphony Orchestra Principal Timpanist Jauvon Gilliam offered these words of congratulations to festival founder Lee Pringle, Music Director Marlon Daniel and all of the guest artists involved.

“Celebrating African-Americans place in classical music is an important and vital part in the integration of classical music into the mainstream of today’s society.  Showing our youth that there is another viable option to make a living as a full-time musician is something that I’m passionate about and I commend the Colour of Music festival for showcasing our place in history to our future musical leaders!  Bravo Marlon, Lee and the rest of the team!”
